MCS / MTH Tuner / Automatic / forced upshift

I upgraded to the MTH Tuner (V7) software in late October. Beautiful improvement in low / midrange power and well worth the $$.

But I have the 6 speed automatic transmission and therein lies a limitation that I'm wondering if there's any way around. My understanding is that the MTH Tuner software bumps the engine rev limit to 7250 RPM. Great! But the automatic, even when in fully manual mode, forces an upshift at 6750 RPM. Frustrating - it feels like the HP is still going up nicely at that point and that there's plenty more to be had.

Is there any way around this situation? Is there another parameter that can be adjusted in the ECU software or some other workaround?

/gary

I'd be interested to find out. When I had the Dinan software on the steptronic E46 the each gear rev was raised as was the rev limit/redline overall. It also eliminated the lag in upshift and the step would not upshift no matter how high the revs were (it might have been like that prior to the Dinan, can't recall at this point). Has the MTH changed the characteristics of shifting at all?

The MTH has had no affect on the shifting characteristics - that's pretty much dominated by being in Drive, Sport Drive or Manual modes. I mix between them quite a bit.

This dang forced upshift drives me nuts.

The software I had changed it in all modes, drive, sport and manual.

I'll have to feel out the upshift on our car, it has not made an impression on me because I shift before that point anyway - it feels like I'm hitting it at a sweet spot and don't have a normal need to redline it (or beyond) to get it going good.
