Here's the 2005 tentative NASCAR schedule. This is the newest info I have.
I have a meeting early next month that will help give me an idea if I can go ahead and announce the specific dates and hope NASCAR doesn't change and interfer with the AMVIV dates.

Hello all,
It's with a heavy heart I bring you the following news. Due to situations and conditions beyond my control I am regrettably not going to be able to organize or run AMVIV 2005.
I'd hate to see this very special MiNi event fall by the wayside. I hope for the sake of hundreds of MiNi enthusiasts who want to participate next year, that someone can pick up where I left off. I'll keep the AMVIV web site on-line as long as cash flow will allow. If you want to take over this endeavor, please contact me at dominicminicoopers@yahoo.com.
With much regret,
Dominic Tuso

AAAAWWWWWW Maaaaan!!!!
Sorry to hear that you won't be able to do it, Dominic. I sure hope some brave soul steps in to take your place. I'd volunteer, but I don't have the time to do it right.
Shelley, I don't like Vegas much either, but AMVIV was a blast! And going to destinations outside the city is the best! (check out valley of fire!)

Hey everyone,
In light of Dominic's recent announcement of his decision to not pursue A Mini Vacation In Vegas 2005, we at TeamMightyMiniZ would like to announce that we've proudly taken the torch and are ready to work hard to make this event happen!
We've set tentative dates for the event of March 19 & 20, 2005. We will be working with a few other nationally-known organizations who have shown strong interest in this event, bringing you the biggest European event of its kind to Las Vegas!
We invite all auxilliary MINI organizations to offer their involvement. You can contact us at amviv@teammightyminiz.com to volunteer your efforts, or simply drop by the forums at http://www.teammightyminiz.com/forum.
Thanks to the MINI community for your support, and to Dominic for his hard work on last year's AMVIV. We look forward to seeing you all at AMVIV 2005!
Regards,
Ivan Diaz

Aw Geez. Don't make me do this. AMVIV is a very special event for me and is very dear to my heart.
I appreciate your enthusiasm, however, at present time I haven't "passed the torch" to anyone in particular yet. I'm working with a few people and a few clubs to find the best overall solution to who should be lead coordinator for the event.
Again, I really do appreciate the enthusiasm, but to assume the lead on this is not kind. I asked people/clubs to email me at my yahoo account if they're interested in taking over. It takes a ton of hard work and even more dedication to the cause. Please, give me a chance to sort everything out and find the best solution to the situation.
I have not heard anything from the Sin City club as of yet, nor anything from other AZ people. I've got one person who resides in Vegas who's very, very interested and a couple of clubs in SoCal that might be interested and may very well be the central coordinator. But, let's not jump the gun. Let's take our time and ensure everything gets pulled together just right.
I really hope you understand.
Again, if you're interested in taking the lead in AMVIV coordination, please email me at dominicminicoopers@yahoo.com Thanks.

AMVIV 2005 is NOT dead!
AMVIV 2005 is NOT dead.
There have been 5 interested parties contacting me already to take the lead, as well as others offering addition help. Hold on tight and stay tuned! There's a TON of interest in keeping this alive.

I'm interested.
what do the 5 interested parties have to offer?
I think that's important.
And to Ivan Diaz, I admire your fortitude and incentive to step up to the plate when we've got a "batter injured".
From the looks of your posting, you guys must have something good planned already!
hope to hear more!
good luck everyone, and I'll keep March 19th and 20th clear! That's the perfect date!

New co-ordinators for AMVIV
After a number of offers from various people and groups, Dominic has decided to hand the reigns over to the Sin City MINI Club to run the 2005 AMVIV.
We are planning to keep the '05 event in very much the same spirit as the '04 event, with the focus on fun and flexibility. You want to go on the group drives? Go ahead. You want to sit by the pool instead? Cool. You want to organize your own sub event (group drive/dinner/track day/???)? Let us know so we can incorporate it in the main event. You have ideas on things you want to do/places you want to go? Contact me (Andrew/Agro) at geek@SinCityMINIClub.com or Donovan at President@SinCityMINIClub.com
Donovan and I are going to be the primary coordinators for the event, but we are happy to accept help and ideas from anyone who wants to contribute.
Agro.

Yay!!
Great news, Agro! How perfect for the Sin City club to take the reins! Very best wishes to you and the Club. I'm sure you'll continue the tradition in fine style.

Just a quick follow-up to the SCMC announcement.
Just a quick follow-up to the SCMC announcement.
There were about 6 different people/clubs who offered to take over. I communicated with some via telephone and others via email. We're talking about people from various states that wanted to help out. TX, AZ, CA, NV, and CO states chimed in.
However, once I started to think about it, it wasn't a hard decision to make. Originally just after AMVIV 2004 ended I was utterly exhausted and although I saw the importance of AMVIV 2005 for the MiNi community, the exhausted brain cells couldn't stand the thought of doing it again. My first contact was Agro (we had dinner on Monday night just after the AMVIV weekend had ended) and I ran it by him as to whether or not SCMC would be interested in taking the reigns. However, later that week, after much rest, I realized I did have the energy and the desire to organize 2005 and informed Agro that I could do it.
Everything has been going well and then my life changed. This change is not going to allow me to organize it for next year and I knew I had to pass along the chore of organizing 2005 to someone else. Don't worry, this life change isn't health or family related. All is OK. Just certain situations have precluded me from being the lead organizer.
I must say I am so very happy to know Agro & Donovan are in the lead. All, please thank them and also, if you can, offer them any assistance in planning the event.
p.s. I'll be sending out an email to all on my AMVIV distribution list with a link to this thread.
