sndwave - Excellent idea - the 2-tier parking lot would work perfect. We can line up all the "contestants" for "judging" in the lower lot, let's say.

Here are the "contestants" so far: We still need a Borla Race, a Quicksilver, NRP, and Scorpion, to name a few:

Nobull60 – borla street
Pilo – UUC
Ryephile – Milltek catback
Minzila – Milltek catback and header
YuccaPatrol, Koolmini and Moorlockx – duke it out for Magnaflow
Paddy – Borla on Cooper
Cometgirl63 – Rspeed on Cooper
Mbabischkin – bone stock Cooper
agokart – stock Cooper S
Normalizer – JCW
orthomini - "oneball" modded stock MCS

Moorlockx - we'd LOVE to have you bring along your dB meter! An excellent tool to match up with the sound recordings, indeed

Cheers,
Ryan

Just a thought here....having it on the lower level will undoubtably sound better, but won't that affect both the sound recordings and db levels? Wouldn't you get unwanted echoing off the ceiling?

Having not been there before, I'm not sure I'm grasping the two tiered lot image correctly, but you'd get a truer sound out in the open.

what's really kool is getting out on the Dragon nice & early
finding a good spot in the middle and listen to the exhausts & tire squalling as they come though

minihune, if my parents drove my "Bitchin' Camaro" up here from the Bahamas, certainly you can drive the MINI over here from Hawaii!

Looks like I will have to step down from offering my stock exhaust for the comparison since I will have my new Magnaflow installed next week!

--->Moorlockx: the two-tiered parking lot is not two-stories, but rather built into the side of a hill. There are no celings or walls to introduce unwanted acoustic reflections.

I imagine we'll have to scout for Exhaust Shootout candidates once we're there, and tempt them to join us with some of the fabulous chili or cool beverages....or even our witty charm

and if the witty charm is not enough, we'll have our ski masks and duct tape to convince them to join the shootout!

Yucca! sshhhhh, they're not supposed to know that secret!

Also - I think we should do this Exhaust Shootout before the Chili Cookoff, as to not take attendance away from either. Let's say, 4:00PM on Friday?

Great suggestion, Ryephile. I am cooking chili, but I'd also love to check out the exhausts, so starting these events at separate times would be my vote for sure.

ortho - cool, you have a one-ball (exhaust, that is)

I've been PM'ing with Moorlockx a bit. He suggested that if there are too many to record at once before the Chili Cookoff, that we continue it Saturday Morning just after the Dam Picture roundup. Also, more people may be around Saturday, so the pickin's may be greater too.

agokart - looks like you won the battle for having the stock MCS exhaust, Yucca went and got himself a Magnaflow! Now he, Koolmini, and Moorlockx will have to duke it out, hee hee.

Cheers,
Ryan

Kool..how many miles do you have on yours? Mine's got about 12K on it now. It will be interesting to see how age affects the systems' tone.

Hi all... very infrequent NAM-goer here, as Sunshine Minis' forums keep my head spinning enough already. Just wanted to offer up another full Milltek system- header thru tailpipe. Dunno if it would really make any difference between mine & Minzilla, but I also have the Alta intake & 15% supercharger pulley, as well as a re-mapped ECU fuel/air curve. Happy to "chime in" as it were, if desired.

One of my compadres down here also has a Stebro system. I'll have to nudge him & see if he'd be willing to show off a little. He's usually game...
