Hey Dbkidd dont be offended the people on this site are very knowledgeable and know their MINIs.You will not sell the car for more than it is worth on this site IMHO.They are trying to tell you in a polite way that you are asking to much for it.With that i say good luck selling your MINI.

Imho

I have looked up the value of the car and compared it with the prices on ebay CARS.com and auto trader and my current price, for what i have in it, is right around what is being offered through out the country. With that said, I do understand people on this site will know more then your average person. But I am not going to sell my car for $20,000, because it is WORTH a lot more. I will negotiate, but I am not giving my car away.

postings on ebay, cars.com or autotrader dont always sell... Rather it may be more useful to check FMV on Edmunds, Kbb or another unbiased source for qualifying the sale price...

Those sites dont have ways to include the JCW option and many of the other options that I have in this car. You are right about those sites, but their where many 04 JCW priced around my current price.

Kbb says $21800. Add a little for JCW and you might sell at $23K. If you get more, let us all know!

I have an offer from a dealer for 21k. I have to be able to get above that. No, I do have some reasonable offers out there from a few people. I will take a loss on the car because of what I owe on it. I just need to see how much it will be.

Sorry to hear that. I think you experienced the problem with buying a "loaded" car and selling it so quickly. Since everyone harps on the great resale value ... in real life that aint so true anymore and the depreciation hit the first two years ... is horrendous.

Best of Luck

Yeah. I know. Thanks. Just see what happens from here. I still think I am in the ballpark for the price for my car. Someone just has to find it.

Manheim sales says $18350

I have checked manheim exotic sales (pretty much the best indication what dealers buys them for in the US) for the last week and an 04 mcs sells for as low as $18118 for a 39k mile car. I adjusted the mileage for 33k and average rises to $18350. Add another $1500 for your extra options (to the right buyer at least) and add the the 10% a minimum what the dealer willing to make then the retail of this car can be as little as 21835. Of course we know dealers will ask more for them porbably around $24000 -25000 range but will probably settle if you came in and offer them close to the $21835 number. Of course not all dealers have to face intelligent and shrew buyers like us in NAM and probably will end up selling them to anxious buyers and unqualified buyers needing financing for $23k-24k range. Now since you are selling it as an individual I truly believe you will need to come close to the $21835 number because dealers offer some sort of warranty and they do spend some money prepping the cars. The Manheim internet MMR numbers are available online and they are the actual sales of the vehicles ran in the auction. Of course the numbers won't tell the actual condition and options of the cars but again running through all mini mcs's will come down with and average number. This number will indicate a lousy car with low options to a completely perfect car with all options. This is not to start another flaming post but something to remind all NAM audience who thought Mini's hold the best of values which was very true the first 2 years. Have you guys looked around all major big cities and you'll notice that Mini are flocked in every block, at least here in NYC. I currently own 2 mcs but had 2 other mcs and i mc before. Believe me I never came close to the dealers price in any of my sales. Mini's are cars too and believe me they are affected by a giant economic force known as supply and demand.

New 06 MCSC for the gf
03 MCS to be build as a track car

"Perhaps the seller would split the cost of shipping it to you", he said, butting in.
