FS: 05 Cooper-S, Purple Haze, low mileage, Nor-Cal.
As of 6/14/08, he's sold.

We're selling Quentin, our second MINI, an 05 Cooper-S in Purple Haze/Black Eyed Purple, which was only available for a short time (the 05 model year, and possibly part of the 06). We're just about to pick up our 08 Cooper-S (our 4th) so we need to sell him pretty quickly. I'd like to get $21,000 (Edmunds and KBB give about 21k), but reasonable offers from a good home will be favorably considered.
Email me at barry@netbox.com, or call my cell on (415) 412 2325.
I'll assume the poeple here know MINI standard features, the options are:
Currently he has Goodyear Eagle F1 (DS-G3) tires (non-runflat) with about 6mm left on them. I'm intending to swap the performance runflats from the new Cooper-S when he arrives, unless someone wants to take him as is. I'll be putting Eagle F1s on the new car reguardless.
He's never been in an accident, and has only about 19,400 miles currently (short commute, 2 MINIs and now the wife isn't working). He's had more maintainance than the computer specifies, the local dealer does 1 year oil changes no matter what he computer says. Of course, he's still under warranty for another year (may delivery, we're the original owners) or 20,000 miles (or so).
Looks great to me, I don't see any scratches or dents except for a really small (<1mm) spot on the mirror where I got too close to a pillar. He's been kept in the garage year round. We've been on the track once in him (big MINI day 06) and we're replaced the tires since then.
See pictures here.
We're located in Mountain View, California.
Edit: I forgot a few pictures:

The new 08 is now at the dealer, and we're leaving town next Saturday (we're off to the Canadian GP). So I'm dropping the price to $19,900. I'm still open to offers.

We're back from Canada, and still have a spare MINI.
We've been contacted by Good Stuff Auto in Santa Rosa, they're offering to sell him on consignment. Are these guys alright? They'd take 10% on the sale, so if they could sell him for $20k, we'd get 18k.
Its either that or sell him back to the dealer which is quite a low ball offer.
Anyone want Quentin for $18,000?

The price drop does seem to have got people's attention, I've now had 3 enquiries overnight, which compares to zero in 3 weeks previously.
I said I was open to offers, it looks like I have to be more explicit about that.

I've agreed to sell Quentin now, I just have to find all the documentation which is buried somewhere. (We did some extensive remodeling last year and some things still haven't surfaced after that.) The worst part was having to turn done someone else who seemed very interested and sounded like they would have made a very good home for Quentin.
