Found a New Road...
Ok, so it's not exactly a new road. I'm sure it's been there for a long time. However it's a road I've never driven and had no reason to even find by accident. Christine had known about it in years past and we decided to head up in the MINI; we had a great time overall and the car handled superbly on this little windy two lane road.
If you were to take either Kipling or Wadsworth south past C-470 you'll find an opportunity to get on County Highway 124, W. Deer Creek Canyon Road. Following the road for a few miles West you'll run into County Highway 122, S. Turkey Creek Road. If you turn Left you'll head up into Turkey Creek and then meet up with US Highway 285 a little farther south, sort of near Conifer. If you turn Right you'll head North towards Tiny Town and 285 again. Though we didn't go this way the map shows a junction for N. Turkey Creek Road, County Highway 64;his route should connect you towards Evergreen. The next time we go driving we're going to give it a try.
So, like I said, its not necessarily a new road, but it's a good find and I wanted to share it around so that everyone else could enjoy it also. For those of you that drove it, shame on you for not sharing. For those that have not; I'd recommend spending an hour playing.
Oh, before I forget I'd better warn of one thing. There can be heavy cyclist traffic on the weekends; some areas have paved shoulders for them to ride on, but that doesn't go all the way up. So have fun, but be careful.
