Computer reprogramming for high altitude??

Aloha!
I am moving to Colorado this coming week and have a question about the altitude and our beloved MINI's. My mom is telling me I will have to have something (she can't recall exactly what) reprogrammed for the high altitude and I am wondering if this is true or if I can drive my MINI from the plains into the mountains without any trouble.
I am moving in from Hawaii, but one of my MINIs is currently snowed in in Iowa. My other MINI will be on it's way via boat as of tomorrow, and you don't get much closer to sea level than Hawaii.

Thanks a bunch!!

Your mom, like my mom

grew up driving cars with carburetors. They went the way of the 8-track and the black rotary phone.

Your car will adjust itself, and you need not worry.

Want a 2nd opinion? Send a note to Randy Webb (www.webbmotorsports.com) at his chat room (get to it thru this site). He will reply and tell you, in technical terms which I don't use, why.

Let us know when you are in Colorado. We will have a memorial "Humuhumunukunukuapuaa" memorial ride. Or something like that.

Aloha! Welcome to Denver. You just call Ralph Schomp Mini in the Denver Metro area and they will take great care of you.

CO move

Bought my Cooper S in WI and no reprogram was nec. Computer will self adjust. and car ran
great, however had a shark reprogram for 91 octane fuel when car was Mod. by adding header's, exhaust, and intake to name a few.
You will notice less power etc at altitude and quality of gas. Co. is one of those states that receive's supplies at time's when the US releases stored fuel from strategic stored supplies. I would pay attention which gas station's you use as quality does vary. But overall should do fine. Welcome to Co. I drive my S 100miles /day and has been a grt. car in snow , rain and wind. Ralph Schomp in Denver is a good dealership and Randy Webb is a grt tuner who can meet all your mod need's.

Thanks all for the replies, I was thinking a newer car wouldn't need anything, but wanted to check. I am looking forward to being able to actually drive and end up somewhere else!
My Iowa to Colorado Springs trip will be a blast as was my Mentor, Ohio to Iowa trip.
