mini5280 Map and Other Questions
Hey guys,
I was just curious to know if we had any sort of map (like through frappr.com) that showed where all of the 5280 members are at?
Also, as commented on at the meeting the other night, these boards are really quiet. Is it because we don't have many members who actually check the boards or is it because we've got nothing interesting to talk about?
I'm always enhusiastic about Minis and chatting with other owners, so what about a little chatter? There were dozens of good conversations that happened at the meeting (not about meeting stuff) that were interesting, so why not here?

You know, you have a point there....
But let me give you hope. I am sure Rick will pick up on the Frappr thing...we do do Frappr maps for our events such as MITM MINIs in the Mountains (last August) and AMVIV (every March in Vegas) and the Dragon (every May in North Carolina). Many other clubs have FRAPPR maps, why not us??
As well, the winter is typically the quiet time. As for me, Silver has not been out since before Thanksgiving....cuz I wrecked her. Just got it back from Schomp, looks good as new.
You will start to see new threads pop up now on the following events. These always generate traffic:
And, it is just about AutoX time. When that happens, both BMWCCA and SCCA have lots of activity to report.
Finally, tho they don't have a dedicated Forum here, go check out MOTR Minis of the Rockies, the classic Mini enthusiast club here in Denver. They (we) are great fun...but just not as active. There is a great site at www.MINISROCK.com which is worth watching, too. Some of us belong to both clubs and enjoy both equally. As is ours....
Hope this helps...
Jonathan

You will start to see new threads pop up now on the following events. These always generate traffic:
- January 28th Breakfast GTG at the Breakfast King
- February 4th Icicle Rallye (before the Super Bowl)
- AMVIV IV in Las Vegas in March (usually we take a group of about 20)
- Tail of the Dragon end of April (the Great Denver to Dragon Roadfood Tour leaves on April 28th...)
- and more.
And, it is just about AutoX time. When that happens, both BMWCCA and SCCA have lots of activity to report.

Hi Ho Silver (more slowly these days)
Thanks for your reply Jonathan, it was full of good information. I didn't even realize that there was a Rocky Mountain region on the NAM boards, I guess thats what happens when you don't actually look for it though.

You can be sure I'll pop in over there too to give my two bits where I feel they are due. See you around!

And don't forget the ORIGINAL club calendar
right here in NAM. On the left, click on Calendars. Scroll down, JUMP to MINI5280 (now there are others) and find the month. Our stuff always goes in there. Click and tell us you are joining the event. There is no commitment and never, if ever, any fee. We are a club for you.
