There is a discussion there at this link

Note that you don't need permission to DO anything in your car from your insurance company. And there is a difference between a 'driving school' which is what this is and 'racing' which is what this is NOT.
You may also go directly to the www.rmcbmwcca.org site and ask them to weigh in. I guess that lots of pp have the same issue, and as a 'school' the purpose is to teach you how to properly handle your car in normal and emergency situations.
Note that in this school you will never go wheel to wheel, as is the case at other events I have attended and is our policy when we have open track days. Rules of safety and common sense prevail. I do not have a great deal of experience buy I also have not heard of others having accidents or being damaged in any way. These instructors are out there to help, not endanger.
Also, pls send a PM to ' ColoradoMark ' one of our NorColo members. He has helped me and I have attended track days with him. He does instruct also and can give you an honest opinion of the risks you face, if any, other than used-up rubber.
Thanks, it may event turn out that your 'vehicle warranty' is a bigger question than your insurance coverage. Sorry to bring THAT up...
