Denver: Help the Sri Lanka children
Denver: Help the Sri Lanka children
South Lakewood Elementary is trying to raise money to ship clothing to the orphaned children of Sri Lanka. My daughter is a third grade teacher there and noticed that her class really was affected by the tsunami. To teach them that even a child in this country could help, she organized a relief project and the children are donating summer clothing for the children there. The whole school got involved and I work with someone from Sri Lanka. Her parents still live there and graciously volunteered to drive the clothes to an orphanage and shelters. She will send us pictures of the delivery. The problem is raising funds for the shipping. If you can help, please send a check to South Lakewood Elementary-Sri Lanka Tsunami Relief. The address is 8425 W. 1st Ave, Lakewood, CO 80226 or to Nancy Bierbaumer (payable to SLE), 6210 Alkire Ct, Arvada, CO 80004. This is tax-deductible. Any amount will help these kids. Thanks for your help. MINI'S ROCK!
