My new Mini

If you were at this months club meeting, I was somewhat kidding when I said my wife wouldn't let me have her Mini for the days ride. Kidding only in my reaction to it.

Sitting among the 21 (that's what I counted) Minis was me and my motorcycle. I felt very out of place. So much so the rest of the day was spent moping around all depressed and sad. Screw this, I need my own MINI.

Well, 3 days later I do! Schomp had exactly what I had configured on the Mini site 6 months ago when I was dreaming while we picked up my wife's MCS.

2014 JCW Countryman. Woohoo!!!

Multi-MINI families rock! Glad you were able to get the CM you were wanting. Now just to get some stripes on it...

I will get them on this week. They'll be present with the Mini attached if I can make the ride on Saturday.

Congrats Mike!

I still hold the record for the most club rides/events attended NOT driving a MINI. You kinda get used to it after a while.

When are we going to make your CM faster?

Rick, Mike is already wanting to figure out the programming of the computer to change settings inside. I told him a tune will start adding up.

I would love to make him faster. Even though he does quite well. Flat out I was catching the S's this past weekend. Well into the triple digit speeds too. That max speed published ain't right, I know.

I rode him very hard this weekend. So much so, I can't be sure my cracked windscreen was caused by a rock. It started under the edge, lower passenger side. Who knows at this point but I've read else where of the screens cracking under pressure.

I took a turn into work today a bit aggressive and saw the crack double in size.

So we need to get "them" out here, how about up at SCR, they have an AWD dyno now.

Jan CAN tune the Countryman, but he has to be there in person and its a very involved process. The ECU needs to be opened up, and flashed directly to the EPOM chip, your warranty would be affected!

I was thinking just going as far as you can without the need for a tune first...

To be honest, I'm 100% with you. I have no desire to get into anything that can't "unplug" when I go into the dealership to have stuff done. No voiding warranty here!

Mike! Glad to hear you're enjoying the JCW! I am needing to catch up and start reading all that can be done with countryman as well. I should probably start by changing my signature on here since I no longer have Hobbs.
