Anyone have/had water issues? My friend's MINI is soaked and it looks like it's dripping from the HVAC system thing in front of the car. It got so bad that she had to pull carpet out. Any ideas?

 

Check the water drain lines if it is leaking into the cabin, might be plugged and backing up.

Is this after a car wash or normal driving on a hot day with the air on full. Drain line for AC, broken, plugged?

Just some thoughts, what year and model MINI?

This is what from her:

Normal driving only when AC is on. Leaked into the front floor board area and eventually into the back. Drain tube isn't blocked and drains fine- we used compressed air to clean it out before.
Year-2006 model cooper s w JCW upgrades. and less than 60k on it!
No leaks from any of the weather stripping.
Weird thing- we let the AC run on Max for 10 minutes- no leak, we did this 3 times.
Driving down the road though there's leak.
no sunroof. I know that's probably anther question

Sounds like the opening from the drain tray to the tube is blocked, use a coat hanger wire and poke it up into the tray thru the drain tube hole and see if you get a bunch of water. if so you need to remove the tray and clean it. If it's clogged up it's probably smelly too.....
