I havn't heard anything else from him. Looks like I need to check with TOBZ and see if he can keep a weekend clear, or check to see if MAC can handle it. As for me I doubt the car will be ready in time to get on the rollers. But I will deffanately be there, if for nothing else just to watch.

Jan,
I believe so far we have 6 people. How many would you need to come out to Denver?
Thanks,
Jorge

I am in the Denver area also and would be very interested in having my 06 r53 tuned. I called MAC and they refered me to some shop in Tempe, AZ. I can't justify bringing my car all the way down there just for a tune. What does a custom tune from Jan usually run?

On the R53 in the past, Jan was getting $350-400 for the tune.

Flash box is extra and any parts you need to install should be done before hand with whoever you use for installation.

He does suggest you have a fresh SC belt, new plugs and fresh oil change prior to a tune.

If your going to put on a header, new injectors, etc. Don't wait until the day before to get it done. Give youself a week to sort out issues.

On the R56, R60, R55, etc. Do an oil change or at least a recent oil change, check your plugs if you suspect issues.

Last count the R56 tune was $500.

All dyno time is extra and the shop rate.

Don

As of now, nothing set for a tune session, we are still discussing.

Any news? I'd like to get a good heads up so I can get my parts installed if Jan is coming out. If not, I'll sit on my parts a little while longer.

No word back from Jan. Would anybody be interested if Mike and Jay from MYNES could make it out?

I still need to coordinate with TOBZ to free up a weekend to use his dyno, and shop.

End of May is good. Otherwise I am out of the State and/or Country.

The 27/28 of May Friday/Saturday would be workable. If Jan has it open???

I can check with the dyno in Parker if you want me too.

Post or PM me, Jorge? DG? We have a history with Parker and they do good most of the time.

Fri/Sat, MAC is not open on Sundays.

I believe MAC would be good for Jan as he knows that dyno and they (MAC) have a good crew to take care of setup.

DG, you good with MAC, let me know asap and I will see if I can get this done for folks.

I know your MINI is down for now, perhaps next time.

I'm personally not in a big rush since I need to get parts in anyway. If DG wants to push back a little bit for his SC, I'm good for June or even as far back as July.

Agreed, but it would have to push to the fall since race season is open.

Jan gets very busy during race season due to his team tuning activities.

Right now, MAC is having some coverage issues with the 27/28 May, primary dyno handler is going out of town.

I havn't got a hold of TOBZ all day.
MAC would be fine with me, if they are still able to do it.

Maby we could get someone out later in the summer, for the people like EVASIVE and myself.

I did put a call into MAC, they have not responded.

I think May is coming up to fast, so I could see getting this done in late September when it is cooler.

Better for my budget if it goes to September.

At least 2 folks have issues getting repairs done.

What do others think?

Unfortunately, I need it more sooner than later otherwise I will miss pretty much of my race season.

Let me know if you need me to stop by Mac's. It is on my way home and I know them fairly well.

Tammy

Sorry, I guess I should say who I am. I purchased a race prepared 2003 Mini S at the end of December. There has been some issues ever since.

No doubt in my mind I would buy an accessport from Jan and run that until I could get a dyno tune. The dyno tune is free, so there is no loss. Accessport gets you a lot of the power, the dyno tune will bring it up a notch or two, but essentially it is a no brainer for me. It even logs data so you can remote tune without a dyno.

Spend money, be happy.

So the AP from Jan comes with a tune? Then I guess that's what i'll do. I need to have a tool to re-install the tune when I have the car serviced from dealership. Now I'm without a tune and my car is lame! Better yet! I'll ask Jan to load my tune from last time in AP since it was dynoed tune.

Disregard my original question. I'm reading about their remote tuning now and it looks like a great alternative.
