Yes, the Crossman is to be built on the X1 chassis (in reality the X2 in the rest of the world) to be built in Austria. The Crossman is supposedly even to be built along side it in the same factory. I don't know what MA would say it's going to be the same as the X6...that Crossman would be friggin' huge.

I'd be very surprised if there were to be more commonality between the Crossman and the BMW X1 than a shared 4WD system, presumably co-developed with Magna Steyr in Graz.

But I wonder if there would be enough spare capacity at Graz to make both cars there when the X3 line moves to Spartanburg?

ahh i took a look at the crossman. Not for me.... It will be interseting to see what kind of power plant they give the car. If its just the 1.6L they i think with the added weight of the AWD and if the car is any larger then the clubman the car may not be the quick car all of us have come to love. although if they gave it a larger motor i would be intrested in seeing if you could intrgrate a crossman motor in to a R56. for thos who are power hungry this could be a good thing.

I'd drive it if it was fuel efficient and had a true 4x4 system instead of an AWD.

The last I heard, the new Lamborghini SUV project has been turned off, but Lamborghini was making an SUV 20+ years ago (the LM002), and they were pretty successful, considering that they didn't have the current SUV craze to help them out.
