Those are really nice looking on the rear bumper. Are they a one off or are they available somewhere?

I made a set for about $5 in materials .... I used 'gutter guard' expanded metal mesh (home depot or lowes ... comes in 3 foot pieces and one is enuf to do rear of one car with leftovers). Take out the existing plugs (looks like the above picture but solid .. no holes) and use as a pattern to cut the metal, noting the tab's holes .... then cut slots where the tab holes need to be. I did all cutting with some FISKARS utility snips. Slap into place behind the bumper... POOF. Want different color like black ... hit with some heat safe spray paint (you're near the exhaust) unpainted natural 'metal color' looked great on my dark silver IMO.

*****************
for OP, the part is readily available new .... https://new.minimania.com/part/NME76...2-R53-Cooper-S $50 .... I've replaced many, they are prone to leak at the seam .... I'd be reluctant to waste time installing a used one altho the swap IS easy.

Well they certainly look sharp! May have to attempt this mod after seeing them in this pic. I could see putting a red led light strip behind for some cool accent lighting - could even hook up to tail lights that get brighter when braking. Think that would look bad ***!

I make the rear bumper vents myself. I could make a set for you if you’d like 😊

Lol it seems we think alike, I wired the rear bumper fog lights to my brake lights so they have a bit more functionality
