Hey everyone,

I was smelling gas and located it to the housing or metal screw cap that holds the fuel filter housing into the gas tank. The metal screw cap is rusted and i'd rather replace that with the top of the housing or whole housing if thats just for sale. I see its for sale from vendors for about 200 (whole fuel filter with all pipes, but not the metal screw cap) so i'd be looking to pay considerably less than that. Let me know what you've got before I buy new, thank you!

I would change the filter top o-ring before buying a new unit. Substantially cheaper and might be the solution you need for the fuel smell.

Wow! Never seen one like that. Try your local salvage yards for a replacement cap. O-rings should come with a new fuel filter.

Yeah! Pretty crazy, right? Things like that rust in my area. I think its the rapid change in temperatures that causes the dew point to be hit and everything has a sheet of water on it in the mornings.

Thanks for the offer, but i ended up just buying it new. The plastic top cap of the fuel filter is the one that is leaking, not the seal, or screw top, as i can see a small crack in one top.
