I have some OEM BBS R98 2 piece Mini cooper wheels. 17x7 et48 4x100.

I just installed aftermarket rims today, and I have no idea what to do with these old OEM ones. They have a few little scuffs here and there, and if you are OCD like me, you will notice the center caps need new decals ($6 each online). Other than that, they look great for 80k miles. They are a little dirty on the backside, but I plan on cleaning them when I get some free time. They have been plastidipped black for the last year, but I can remove it easily. The look very clean underneath.

I am not in a hurry to sell, and I don't need to sell them at the moment. But, as they say, everything goes for the right price. I also know these rims can be expensive/hard to find. Similar sets are for sale on eBay for $900+ after shipping and tax, but those appear to be a little more dinged up. Honestly, that sounds like a lot for what they are selling.

Is anybody interested or looking for this style of wheel?

I was thinking $560 plus shipping is fair. Its a few hundred bucks cheaper than eBay.

Local pickup/drop off preferred. Would be willing to go lower on price for norcal/socal buyers. Willing to drop them off for free if you are in the greater Sacramento area.

 

These are wheels only correct? Or are the tires still on them? very interested.

 

Correct, wheels only. I had 215/45R17 continental tires on there. It drove great! It had 205s when I bought it, but the 215 options are cheaper since the 215 is a more common tire size.

It also needs TPMS and valve cores, but you can probably get your tire shop to pull those off of the old wheels.

If you are interested, I can send more pictures. I plan on cleaning them this coming weekend if I can.

 

Do these actually have a BBS stamping? Every R98 have seen the back of has had a Ronal stamp and not BBS whereas the R90s are BBS stamped....

 

Agreed. R98's are made by Ronal, R90's are made by BBS. R98's can be described as BBS STYLE, however. Both are two piece wheels. R90's are harder to find.

 

Ah, I see. I was only basing this on information I found from other Ebay sellers. Either way, I am still selling these rims for much cheaper than what they usually go for.

 

The Ronal wheels aren't inferior to BBS, just a different manufacturer
