I just don't have the time to mess with this. My loss, your gain.

I have two sets of lights from 2003 R53s. The ones with the exceptionally clean lenses have something going on with the internals. Blows lamps left and right. The ones with the lenses that looks like a 90 year old set of cataracts are from my old R53 than never blew a lamp in its life.

Why is this special? Anyone who's attempted a Joey Mod will tell you it isn't for the faint of heart: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...od-how-to.html. This way you have plenty of options to muck up one pair, figure out what works for you and get a nice clean mod done with some really nice lenses.

FYI, those yellow lenses are very easy to clean up. I dont want to hijack the thread, so PM me if interested and I'll send you a "how to". Great price, even just for the ballasts as a spare.

 

I did that a number of times. They're crazed throughout the depth of the lens. I used two different systems... don't remember the first but the second was the one from McGuire's. Looks OK after 30 minutes on each lens, but... I frankly grew tired of the hassle. They were New Mexico lenses and had a loooooot of time in the sun. That's why I got the other two lenses. Was going to do the Joey Mod and just didn't have the time.

 

400 grit wetsand
2000 grit wetsand.
wipe with alcohol
clear coat

Mine were worse than yours when I started. Whole process takes 15 min. I've done this a few times and it lasts a long long time (several years). Clear coating is the key.
