Hypothetically, say someone posted a thread looking for a specific item that I have and am willing to sell. I post a reply in the thread letting him know. I receive a PM from another user asking if I would sell to him. 30 minutes later I receive another message from the thread author. Do I sell to the person who started the thread looking for the item, or the person that responded first? Thanks haha

 

It first person that gives you money. I try to give the benefit to the first person, but lots of people are just window shopping or curious. I let all parties know, that first person to PayPal me gets the deal mQubed Motorsport, Manic Tuning Dealer

 

Hypothetically, if you had PM'ed the OP instead of announcing your intentions to the board, you would not have had to face this quandry. I know that's not much help - just a random observation. I will examine my motivations for raising it in my next therapy session. ;-)

 

I would go with the OP first since it was you who initiated the offer. Like Vehigaz said tho.. Should have PM'd

I say give the OP first shot at it then sell to whoever is next. The beauty of not PMing the OP and posting in his thread is if for some reason they do not buy it from you maybe ( as in this case ) someone sees your post and wants it as well. You hopefully get it sold either way. The OP does need to be checking his thread on a regular basis, then you as the post-er with said item don't have to wait to see if they are ever going to reply/buy.. It is etiquette both ways there..
