Mainly did it to keep engine heat away from the CAI. Still plenty of SC whine, and it sounds clearer than stock.

How is the dynamat attached to he case? Basically wondering how removable it is if I want more noise....

You just take a hair dryer and heat it up. It should be able to be pealed off. You actually get more SC whine with it on. The Dynamat blocks any noise outside of the box. So less engine noise and more whine. It's actually great sounding. Also colder air going in the air filter.

Thanks

Jim

That's gonna be hard to remove.. if you choose to. Dynamat is like tar paper. Especially the Xtreme series. But wikdr53 is right.. it helps insulate the metal box from the engine heat. I used rubberized undercoating on mine and baked it in the sun for a day.

IMO, it makes the sound you want to hear better (SC whine) and any engine noises less. The main thing was to keep the air as cold as possible. It's an excellent thermal barrier.
