Looks like it's been in or under water. There's rust on bolts where there shouldn't be otherwise. I've seen well cared for farm trucks didn't look that dirty. Good luck and have fun dodging those cones.

I am a sucker for threads like this.

It has definitely seen a lot of salt with all of that rust. Likely the upper rust is from road salt getting in from the hoodscoop that is missing.

Ok, it has a JCW sticker on the engine. That’s a good start if it drives like it has that kind of power. If it has a any engine mods (tune or pulley) it will put you into a modified car class, otherwise the suspension mods you showed will put you into STX (I think, it did for me). What shocks does it have?

The CAI isn’t doing much good without the rest of the housing that makes it so it draws air off the cowling at the base of the windshield.

The diagonal exit on the end of the exhaust says that it was run on the track; Lime Rock Park in particular. They exit the exhaust that way to get around LRP’s noise restrictions. However, I don’t recall seeing it there. A MINI that has been stripped like that would have been noticeable. The track event organizers named “SCDA” would have been a likely choice for the owner. You might think about sending them the pictures and see if they recognize the car. If it had noise issues at LRP and it was at a SCDA event, they will remember it. Whether they will give you any info about the owner or not is another question.

Hope this helps.

Let us know how it goes.

I just noticed that it has a sun roof. If you can ditch that and all the junk that goes with it and weld in a lightweight sheet of metal you'll get rid of some unneeded weight and shift the center of gravity lower.

Thanks guys for some insight. I scored a bunch of stuff sunday to clean the car up. Grabbed almost the entire flare kit
Dash cover ( someone screwed something into it above airbag)
rear hatch tray,
new scuttles
lower trim under steering wheel
driverside seat adj. lever
dome light
intercooler cover
front inner fender well ( still need driverside)
new headliner ( so we can retrim it and then just pull old one)
