I for one like Rob's suggestion of a run up into the Sandy Hook State Park. I haven't done that in a long time and it would be nice to see how they've fixed it up over the years. There will be a little traffic delay at the Highlands Bridge construction site, but it wasn't bad this past Monday and I would expect it to be even less this coming Sunday. Make sure you bring your cameras along.

Mike "blue lightning" started this thread and is coming in a good distance from SouthWest Jersey out in Burlington. I PM'd him last night and asked him what time he expected to arrive in the shore area (exit 82 of Parkway). I expect we should hear from Mike sometime today, so once he posts we'll set that as the meeting time. We're presently looking at meeting in a parking lot on route 37 (east bound lane) close to exit 82 of the parkway. The Perkins restaurant parking lot looks like a reasonable choice for now and is identified on the map in a previous post in this thread. Perkins is right after the Hooper Ave. intersection on Rt 37. From there we can motor out to the Island for breakfast and make our final plans for the rest of the day while downing our pancakes and sausage.

The weather continues to look exceptionally good for the entire day. The NOAA forcast for our area has been upgraded slightly and the high temperature for the day has moved up from the high 70's to the low 80's with sunshine throughout the day.

 

OK that all sounds good to me, I am coming from up north Morris county should be about a 90 minute run or so down, looking foward to it

 

Just found out my family planned a Sunday Brunch for this Sunday, something we've been trying to organize since January so I can't make it now. Grrrr.

 

I am thinking around 930 to 1000 on Sunday morning, motor over to Salty's and then where ever we want to go, the park sounds like a good plan. This is the first time that I am planning something like this and thak you all for your input and help.

I will hang out in the parking lot of Perkins Restaurant until ~10:00AM. If anyone comes through the area after 10:00AM, they should drive out Route 37 and go over the bridge and head north on Route 35 into Seaside Heights. Salty's is on the right hand side.

 

Who is coming? We will be meeting at the Perkins, Route 37, around 930 to 1000 am, just a quick head count, that way we can hang for a short time in case anyone is running late.

Did you ever figure out what went wrong at the JTR? Did BadAppl have a leak or what? That was scary... I don't know if thats because that car is a turbo or what.

As for the weekend I still don't know whats going on. I'll probably speak to JRoca tomorrow. Sounds like the Porsche autox is off. :( It also sounds like I'll be spending another weekend or at least half a weekend with my folks in Ortley because it would be foolish to miss a meet up in Lavalette.

 

Yes she lives up to her name, dosen't she? It went to mini that Monday and they replaced the thermostat so she should behave this weekend.
Although she did enjoy all that man attention gathered round her bonnet.
