MINIs on Top 2009
That is a good idea. I will have to look into it but, it is softball season and having games scheduled for the 25th may make it too rushed. We dont get done till 8pm normally and will probably still be packing on Thursday.
I'm heading up Thursday as well and staying at a place near Yankee Candle. What time were you planning on heading up? Maybe we should start a little caravan on Thursday going up to MA?

@zonedguy: Haha.
@inimini2007: What time are you two driving up? The Red Roof Inn was the first hotel I looked at, I still haven't made my reservations. (Like I said, I'm real late with all this and I'm not registered for MOT but I want to motor with everyone from YC to Area 51 and then to Attitash anyway.

I believe ZONEDGUY is leaving at Night. I'm trying to leave at 1:00PM on Thursday.
Last year, we left at 4:00AM and got to YC at about 8:15AM. By the time you drive to Area 51 and take the direct route...arrive at the Hotel around 3:40PM in the afternoon. You have to check-in, get ready for the Friday night festivities...you are dead tired...We got up at 6:00AM to get ready for the 7:30AM run on Saturday.
Remember...You will have fun...period. Everybody gets lost and its always in a pack of 5-7 cars that stay together...You get to wave alot because you get to see the other packs of 5-7 cars coming the other way and probably your original group.
Don't forget to register at MINI2 forum so they can get a count at YC.
Don't forget to bring two-way radios and a winter jacket...it's cold at the top.

I think the 4am or 6am ish start is our plan. Plus we are staying at the Bartlett Inn since Attatash was ooked due to my last minute decision to come. It will be a long day or weekend but well worth it.

I took a half-day on Thursday and after visiting the doctor I'll be packing up and heading out. I aimed to leave about 5 or 6, but if anyone else wants to drive up Thursday night, I'd be thrilled to meet up. Let me know!
Thanks for all of the information, inimini and everyone. I haven't decided what time I'm going to head up on Thursday, probably somewhere between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. If I do end up leaving on the later end, I'll definitely let you know, zonedguy! It'd be a blast to drive to MA either being followed or following a MINI. I'm so excited!
Well as it turns out, my daughter has decided to dump me for the weekend and I am left with an extra ticket to MOT.
What this means is I have an open seat for the ride up the mountain and an extra meal ticket for Saturday breakfast and Saturday night dinner. And I am also scheduled to take the Observatory Tour. PM me if you are interested.
But she did take the shirt! After all she is her mother's daughter!

great pics! we had an awesome time this weekend too... however, you have far more ambition today than i do after the drive home. i took so many photos that i think i need to go through them after getting some quality sleep in my own bed!
I was going to wait to post until I had pictures to show but I couldn't resist.
What an amazing weekend! MOT was an absolute blast!
It was so nice meeting a lot of you! I just want to thank all of you for the great time. It wouldn't have been the same without all of the friendships I was able to leave with. I thought motoring in a MINI was fun but when you put over 200 in a line, it's something else. Seeing everyone at Loon was so neat!
The climb up Mt. Washington was an awe-inspiring experience. I'm real glad I was able to do that, those will be some lasting memories. The view from off the side of that little road and at the summit were breathtaking.
The only problem with the trip is that it didn't last longer! I already miss following and being followed by a fellow MINI motorer. There's no doubt in my mind that I'll be doing more runs.
Again, just thank you. I hope that all of you had as great of a time as I did!
