I'm not from Jersey. But coming from Delaware we will be driving through. Sending in the money today and have reservations at the Bartlett Inn. About 2 minutes from the main hotel (I am #15 on the waiting list)
I know in the past there's been a group who's done a Moose-sighting during the weekend or a Maine trip (although something separate from http://thegreaticecreamrun.com/) although I could be wrong. I thought Brian Lalor was the organizer. Anybody know what I'm talking about and if such events are taking place this year?
We were just chosen to go into the Mt. Washington Observatory!! This is pretty excting. I hope the weather is nice so there's a good view.
I'm still trying to decide what day to go up.
Will look forward to driving to the top with you! We've also been accepted to the observatory tour. Will miss the raffle results and driving up with the rest of the 150+ minis, but I've done that for the past two years and it will be nice for a change.
I was a bit slow to look into the events (picked up my MINI about a month and a half ago) but my mom and I might take a trip up near Yankee Candle on Thursday night, stay over, and meet for the YC caravan, follow everyone to NH, and then make our own plans.
I've got two questions. Anyone else just going up to enjoy the MINIs but are not registered for MOT? Is anyone meeting up in Jersey to take a ride there (or to YC)?
Just got my info packet at the office. I'm impressed with all the documentation and preparation! I got two static clings though, is that to be expected?
#182 I got the IOU for the clings with my packet today! I am getting kind of excited for the weekend. Any tips on how to get my boyfriend to understand the excitement and to join in it too?

I try to bring new people to each MINI event that I attend. Spread the love and all...
Each one is pretty darn skeptical of the whole idea, "you are doing what? with who? why...?" but each of them has always comes home having had a blast. I wane them in by making MINI spotting and waving a Navigator led activity and through my own stupid amount of excitement. Even my boss, to whom I had to explain what I was doing taking a day off (since I never do) was initially skeptical until it was clear how excited I was. At minimum, it'll be a nice weekend getaway for the both of you. I'd start with that and build from there

I received my packet today as well! It was fun to see the picture on the MOT guidebook from last year and my old 2003 electric blue MCS on the cover. I miss her.
In the past I've only put the clings on one side of the car, so you're going to be meeting up at "Area 51" as some of the feeder groups are, you can probably have one of mine!
Thanks for the tips Zonedguy- He tends to laugh at me when I wave at other MINI's already and when I call them out in parking lots. I think he will end up having fun we are going to trade off driving for part of the weekend so he isnt the passenger the whole time. But of course I get to do the auto road drive.
Hopefully, we will get to meet up at Area 51 but it all depends on timing, he wasnt too excited when I told him it is an 8 hour drive and we need to leave early on Friday to avoid traffic around philadelphia and Ney York City.

A number of us are driving up Thursday night and staying at the Yankee Candle meetup to avoid half of the drive time by doing it Thursday evening instead. You should consider it!
