I have a 2007 Cooper S with 99k miles. I was preparing to sell and the timing chain kit bit the dust. I have the recall/replacement kit from Century, but it's beyond my skill to install, and I don't want to drop another $2k for a mechanic to work on it. My hope has been to find someone that wants to buy it, understanding the work that needs to be done, and the potential value, but I've not had any luck. My other options as I see them are to part out the car myself over time, or just scrap the whole thing. I really just want to get rid of the whole thing, but I'd like to make $2000 on it one way or another. Any advice on the best way to proceed would be greatly appreciated.
