Hi everyone! Well Sunday is my birthday and what better way to enjoy it then with a long day drive filled with twisties and beautiful scenery. Problem is that I really have no clue where to go or how to get there.

I have heard that Grandfather Mountain is nice but to be completely honest I have no idea to get there or what the best route is for me to take.

If you could please post any suggestions with explicit directions, or address for GPS, I would TRULY appreciate it. Would be happy to post pictures and reviews of the trip. Thanks Everyone!

 

Take I-85 to Gastonia and get off on US 321 travel N to Blowing Rock, as you come in to town you will go left into the town itself. the right is the bypass. Plenty of good places to eat. Then at the Light you will see US221 to Grandfather Mountain. You can come back down 221 on the other side to Asheville or return the way you came. Another take 85 S to Exit 10 US 74 TO Shelby all the way to I-26 go north to asheville take I-40 to Us 74 S towards Cherokee, take 28 off 74 that called the Hellbender all the way to US129 (Dragon) go N to Parkway either take parkway to Gatlinburg or come back down all the way til US129 end in Topton NC and 74 E back to I 40 and home. Full day trip last one.
