I have never been to Helen, or at least I dont recall. What all is there around there, pictures of the Hotel and a few of the named nearby places would suggest it is a little German or Swiss styled village area. It looks really nice though. i will be there, going to book the rooms next paycheck.

 

I posted a link to the town, and the hotel.. all the info is listed there, I am in Mexico right now, but will post more information when I gt back home

We've been to Helen and highly recommend it. We've reserved for both nights. I HIGHLY recommend a lunch/dinner jaunt to the Dillard House in Dillard, GA. They can accommodate as many as we bring, they are famous for their country food served family-style, reasonable and a pretty drive. About an hour and 40 miles depending how "twisty" you want the roads to be! If any interest let us know.

The Dillard House, that sounds good, I haven't ate there since I was little, thats all my Gma and mom talk about. I am definately going now. Nothing military or work wise that weekend. And I am making sure that work knows that Fri-Sun is already reserved. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and safe travels to all.

 

We've been to the Dillard House a couple of times. One price (fairly high) and then the food starts coming until you holler uncle. You'll eat yourself sick (just got to get your monies worth!!) Pretty place; has horses to ride also (before you eat).

 

My favorite thing about the Dillard House is the rocking chairs out on the deck, so after you gorge yourself with all that good cooking, you can try and rock it out, and the views are really nice....

 

Can't wait, is it time yet?

We may have two more MINIs from Middle Georgia MINIs joining us. Myself and JJo plan on heading up to Flowery Branch on the 22nd to visit her brother and stay the night, then head to Helen that morning.
