Fantastic job Kr4nG. Some say anything is possible with enough time and money. I'd say ingenuity can make up for a fair amount of either. Bravo sir. Bravo!
This might possibly be the best engine swap build I've ever seen.
Love every bit of information that you've been giving! I have an automatic MINI, would love to get a manual mini with a blown engine and attempt this swap, so many different options for the k-series of engines; with the lighter weight and the higher revs, this thing must be an absolute dream to drive.
what are your goals for the car? AutoX? or just something to say you have? lol

Much love!
I appreciate it. Thanks.
My goal is to just have a fast mini cooper that is all.
I do not have any real updates as I am busy with a few personal things. But for your entertainment I will show you the turbo I decided to go with. This is a ball bearing 6062 precision turbo. This should spool up nice and early.
I put my NAV screen to good use. I can do screen mirroring and I have a HDMI and Composite connector. Now I can see my data on the screen.
Not wanting to hijack this incredible thread, but can you share info on how you repurposed the NAV screen!?
I'm desperate to make effective use of this huge piece of dead real estate, and you seem to have made good use of it. I'd like to duplicate and give you all the credit...
Here is an update of whats happening with my mini. I have started the turbo build. During this time I have taken the advantage to update the oil pump, timing chain assembly, and 50 degree vtc gear.
It wont be a hood exit exhaust. That pipe you see is actually aluminum for my intake that was not done in the photo. But now its done and will sitting in that area.
The turbo has just enough space where it sits right on top of the steering rack shield about 3-4 inches from touching it. The downpipe is a bit tight making it route to the exhaust. If you want a hood exit that is the easy way. It will route straight up towards the passenger side next to the abs pump.
I love this build! I come from the Honda world and have boosted a couple S2000's and know how easily you can make insane power with a turbo! Would love to do this to my MCS as well! Looking forward to hearing what it puts down!
