Lightly Modifying My F56
#201
Road trip to Sneed4Speed yesterday. Chris removed my Delrin shift **** and installed the new Billet Aluminum Billy Club for me. The extra weight is a +. Only downside was the only way we could get the Delrin **** off was with a saws-all. Hated to ruin a perfectly good shift ****, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Also installed a set of S4S side splitters/ I still have a little finishing work to do on the side splitters, but over all a productive day. Finally finished vacuuming all the scrap and plastic "sawdust" out of the interior a little while ago.

Spent about eight or nine hours working on the Mini today.
First we removed the OEM Sport Suspension with NM lowering springs. (these will be in the classifieds sometime this week) Then we replaced the stock down pipe with a Milltek Catless DP. Installed a new lower engine mount with the yellow Powerflex Bushing W/Black inserts. Installed a new CravenSpeed E-Brake handle to match my billet S4S shift ****.
To be honest, 99.9% of the work was actually performed by my Son in Law and an old buddy from the USAF. My Buddy has a lift in his garage so it made the work (for them) a lot easier. After reading stories about people not being able to get both the OEM heats shields re-installed I figured I would do a header wrap (yep, I did this) and hit it with a few coats of high temp silicon spray. Turns out my SIL got all the heat shields re-installed without a hitch. Now I just need to put a few more miles on it to burn off the residue from the darn header wrap and silicon spray. Suspension is fine so far. Ride height is ~ same as it was with the NM springs. I'll put some miles on it this week and get the alignment checked. I'm really happy with the improved shifting since installing the Powerflex engine mount and I love the way the Metal E-Brake and shift **** complement each other.

It's amazing to think we essentially started out w/ the same cars, brother...
You've completely transformed yours inside and out. I can only imagine the speed and handling you've gained over last couple of years.
How do you like the Dinan Stage 1 compared to the NM? Big difference?
Have you ever done a 0-60 or 1/4 mile run? I do understand that we don't buy a Mini for straight line performance or 1/4 mile runs, but it can be an effect way to measure gains as we add tunes and performance up-grades.
I'm guessing you have no plans to sell or trade for the foreseeable future (and why would you )

By the way, I'm still interested in your brake duct scoops. I think we can make a deal. Still have plans to have my CF wing installed before MOTD. The new mounts are out for welding and powder coating. This month is going by Fast! And, no, I have zero plans to ever part with this car. Just ordered a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 summer tires so I'll have new stickier rubber for the Dragon this year.

Installed a ByteTronik hidden dash cam today. Streams directly to your phone or iPad via WiFi. Very easy to wire because it just plugs into the OBD port. Has capability for up to 32gb micro sd card in the camera itself. Lots of different settings that can be done within the app. Cost- $110 shipped.
I figured this would be a good way to record some of the runs that my Grandson and I make at MOTD this year. Truly a stealth installation.
The link is to mini_vinnie's writeup on the camera, with pictures.

Hardwire version of that cam, which is what I have, so u don't have to block your OBD port ( and that so you can keep recording when the car is at the dealer for service).

Not worried about the OBD port. I got the cable with the through put plug. I have three items plugged into the port now. The version you linked is nice, but I wanted to go with easiest install. It's not for security reasons so I don't need it on always. Main reason I got it was to record the runs my Grandson and I are going to do at MOTD.

Just keep it between the ditches and the shinny side up unless you're wanting a 1,000,000+ hits on the video.
