Yea, have not heard much from the MINI E other then the one I saw in NJ HQ.

 

...and according to Schwarzenbauer in the latest news release, it may never see the production line.

 

The 1 series electric and the mini e were engineering exercises where they took the info some dedicated enthusiastic drivers would give them big feed back and some logistical info. A manufacturer hates " converted" anything as they simply aren't optimized or efficient.

Now the 2015 i3 is really the ****. Get past the looks. It actually isn't a bad vehicle. Lots of bells and whistles. Lots of techie stuff.

If I didn't already have 5 cars at home I would get one in a heartbeat for my wifey. She works 5 miles from home. A perfect senator.

I'm betting the next version of whatever "I" will be pretty well sorted as far as BMW is concerned. And I'm not talking 100k i8's.
