Spotted - MINI E

I was coming out of the car wash and what do I see but a MINi E in full garb. Looks like California dealer license plates too.

The odd thing about seeing this car in person was the lack of a muffler and exhaust. I know its an electric car but it still looks strange without an exhaust.

Very nice, bet you couldnt hear the electric motor over your JCW
Where was this? your profile says NY, but the license is California.
I think I would have followed it.

Maybe it's one of the show cars for tonight. I hope there's more than just the one from the Auto Show.

Maybe as far as I know there's only one MINI E in the NYC area and its 149, we'll see tonight if there are others.

I spotted a plug in Prius today, first one I've ever seen, had a plug cover on the rear bumper, a PHEV and A123 sticker. I so wanted to talk to the driver but couldnt get next to them.

The picture was taken in Nanuet, NY on Rt 59 just west of the entrance to the south bound NYS Thruway. I was pulling out of the Thruway shopping center with the Car Wash and the Dunkin Donuts.

I spotted my first MINI-E this past week - it was Wednesday, and I was on the way back from http://thegreaticecreamrun.com/ - heading south on I-287, a little north of Boonton I think. The MINI-E was heading north and both my passenger and I spotted it at the same time...

Wish I could have gotten a closer look. Given that there are no dealers in my end of the state, I'm guessing that I wont see one too close to home - and I don't get up north all that often...

Paul,
MINI of Morristown just "gave away" about 50 MINI Es to cities, utilities and businesses (for profit and non-profit). I have a feeling you'll see many more, especially if you travel near Newark... And they are all paying $10/month - the for profit company still needs to be identified as well as their lease rate.

There was another fire sale at MINI of Monrovia (CA) who unloaded 49 MINI Es to non paying "Pioneers".
