I'm not sure, but I love the system, I'm sure the H/K system is better, but you also have to pay more.

There were talks and pics of the stock speakers sometime ago in the audio forum. The stock speakers are pretty low grade thin paper. But 4 speakers and 2 tweaters don't do too bad if you're not looking for anything special.
Cheers,

The headunit seems ok but the speakers are crap! mine vibrate and sound terrible when driving on the freeway. I want to change the speakers but I hear you have to cut the wires or that aftermarket ones dont fit right in the stock holes or something.

I actually visited a local car audio shop that does special custom systems and they say the speakers can be replaced with top of the line speakers. They already changed the whole system for a friend of theirs with a 2002 MCS with MB Quarts and an Alpine Head Unit. I don't remember them mentioning altering the speakers to fit the prior speaker holes though.

i can't tell you how bad i want to replace the stock system.
i've been waiting for my money from uncle sam to do it!
not soon enuf i tell you!
I think i'm just gonna replace the front component speakers
and get a JL stealthbox.
that should make a huge difference!

to be honest with you nfo, i would love to install a complete JL adio speaker system including the stealthbox and a 6-channel amp. it's cost-effective and sounds pretty decent...don't you think?

I still don't know, I'll have to shop around before I decide. MB Quarts, JL audio, Pioneer, or Kicker speakers, sub and amp. Mmmmmm, we'll have to see.
