Well, one of my new friends that lives around the area suggested a dealership to me..... it was one of the two of the choices i had for buying my mini..... but the one he suggested sounded so great that i decided i'm definately going there! He gave me the e-mail address of one of the sales people! I wrote her last night and i got a prompt response earlier today! I wrote her back telling her I had plans to purchase one and wanted to test drive one in the next week or so... so she e-mailed me back today and told me to call to schedule an appointment for a test drive, and to ask for her when i called! Her politeness(is that a word? LOL) and helpfullness(is that a word either?? Although, being that i can't get my mini yet it may just drive me even more insane that i can't have one yet!

Yes, Good Things DO come to those who Wait.
I almost imported an old style Mini from the UK about 6 years ago, and in the process found out that an American release was coming... so I waited, and waited... and now my Mini is done and sitting outside the factory "awaiting transport"! It is agonizing, but a necessary evil I'm afraid. It's a darn good thing they have this Chat thing and web-site to keep us ocupied or they would never be able to keep the sales staff from going bonkers!!!!

I felt that a while ago! But I've come to terms with it! LOL

i kinda knew i was a little obsessed when i created this picture of my "soon to be" mini, but i truly realized i was obsessed when i took that very same picture , and I printed it out, framed it and hung it on my wall next to my bed! Although i'm almost positive their minds will change once they've ridden in her! But i've made it clear that she's my baby and nobody else is driving her!

Terrific color choice! We too feel in "Love" with the Pepper White Cooper when we first saw it in person at Lauderdale MINI. They had a Cooper tester in Pepper White/Black Roof, Chrome, 16" 5 star run flat tires, 5 speed and Tartant red cloth interior...it looked stunning!. My wife and I don't really care too much about white cars, but the MINI's Pepper White is not your everyday's white color! It looks so rich and has amazing depth under any lighting plus it remainds me of the color you would find in a vintage Jaguar or other fine British sports cars.

When we went to Lauderdale MINI to see the cars, we were pretty much settled on a Velvet Red Metallic/White roof Cooper (Which they also had parked right next to the Pepper White Cooper) and while the Velvet Red is a very nice color, we were a bit kinda turn off by the darker than expected shade, albeit almost no MINIs we have seen down here have been ordered in Velvet Red. So in the end we picked a Pepper White/Black roof, 15" 8 Spoke wheels, CVT, black leatherette interior with silver gray interior door panels and Multifunction steering wheel with Cruise Control (And saved $400 in the process by switching from a metal color to a solid finish) We did not pick the extra chrome bumper accents as we wanted to stick to much sportier looks and also felt that the Pepper White actually looks better with less chrome bodywork accents. Had we gone with a darker paint, we most likely had picked the extra chrome bumper accents.

An all Pepper White Cooper is indeed a very classy looking car! Post your your pics once you take delivery of your new Cooper!

Last, the Tartan Red interior is nice but my wife was not too crazy about it....too much red everywhere! I am not sure if I would still love a Tartan Red interior years down the road but at least is cloth. In Canada, there is a 3rd Leatherette/Cloth color choice called Silver Gray and it looks really nice, but unfortunately we can't get it here in the US. We prefer the more "Business like" Black/Silver Gray interior as if in the future should we sell the car it would be easier as I am sure not too many people like red seats, carpets and door panels.

Last suggestion: Get your MINI for Lauderdale Imports MINI in Ft Lauderdale, FL.....why pay over MSRP, when you can get the exact MINI you want without paying a single penny more for it? To me $1K is a lot of money to gibe away to a greedy dealer and represents the difference between getting an extended warranty contract, making a larger down payment, or even a weekend vacation or savings.

Lauderdale MINI is the best dealer in S.Fla! Nicest people to deal with!.

I know exactly how you feel! LOL When i wake up from those dreams i don't know whether to be happy, or upset because i can't drive my own mini yet! LOL I'm happy because it's almost as good as motoring for real..... but it's not real motoring! it's the very first one on the page!

Thanks for the info. Cooper4us!
I'm pretty sure after hearing from you,
Dave and several others on the board that
I'll order from Lauderdale. There is no
real reason to pay more to a dealer just
because they happen to be the closest
to where I live. My only concern
in that area is that that's the dealer
I'll be using for maintenance, repairs, etc.

As for the interior of the car, I love the
way the red tartan looks but I'm afraid that
any of the cloth interiors may not hold up as well.
I could be wrong (& hope I am!), afterall, the cloth
in my '94 Integra looks as good as the day I bought it.
I still haven't completely decided between the red
tartan or the black leatherette.

Glad to hear how impressed you were (are) with the
Pepper White! White cars are so common in Florida
but this color is just different. I don't think I would
get tired of it and it might be cooler.

I really want to go ahead & order. I've been putting
it off because I have a couple of business trips
coming up & thought I could concentrate on the car
after October, but I may have to go ahead & contact
Lauderdale now!
