Things I love about my '07 MCS

Okay, I had that other grumpy post about the turn signals, so I figured I'd better balance the karmic forces by posting some POSITIVE things I've observed about my car.
  • Hey, it's got a driver's side SIDE (not front) sun visor!
  • I love, love, love the feel of the suspension. Just firm enough. The steering is even better in Sport mode, but I like it fine the default way.
  • The HID's are awesome.
  • The multi-function sport steering wheel feels great. Just the right diameter. Nice and thick rim, grippy leather.
  • I like that there's an aux input even on the bottom-of-the-line Boost stereo.
  • I love the tailpipes. People keep asking me if they're aftermarket.
  • The shifter is very smooth.
  • Torque!
  • I get waves from other MINI drivers. In fact, a couple pulled over in front of my house the other day to get out of their car and admire my MINI. I went out and introduced myself. He's got an '07 on order. It's the car that makes you new friends!

The first thing you need to come to grips with is, it is all about me!!

Now, with that said. I see nothing in that list that applies to me,...YET! So, what is the point of making the post?

When I get MY car, then feel free to make such posts. Until then. Let's not waste the bandwidth of NAM with such tripe.

Did I mention, I am really self-absorbed?

P.S. The universe is now in balance Dan.

Disclaimer: The above is designed to solicit a smile, a giggle, a mild burst of laughter, or possibly a bit of passing gas. In the advent you are not capable of seeing this post for what it is, and cannot find your giggle-****, please move along. There is nothing for you to see here. Thank you for yer support.

Skuzzy, we spoke with the factory. None of those things will be on your car. And Dan, I agree with all of that. First thing I said when I saw my car was, "That's the stock exhaust?!" And the nav is fantastic!

To make up for it, LynnEl has to post at least 5 things that he/she loves about his/her MINI.

Skuzzy, do you have a plan for the last few days before arrival? You know, time pretty much stops for the last week. Some days are 48 to 50 hours long.

Congrats Dan. That reads like a man happy with his ride. Smile for miles!

It should go without saying, those days could be nightmarish for NAM readers. I cannot gaurantee I will not go off the deep end. However, I will gaurantee a good giggle for most readers.

After all, most people get a kick out of watching others go through misery. Seems to bring things into perspective.

Yes, just remember when you want to post something negative about your Mini, there are those of us who have no finger nails left, have not showered in days, called in sick to work just so they can hit the refresh button on the status page at MINIUSA, and come here to whine incessantly, all due to NO MINI IN THE DRIVEWAY YET!!!!!

EDIT: Wow. This is a hijack of the highest order.

Okay. Sounds fair:

1. I finally have it!
2. The navigation system is great
3. The ride is fantastic
4. It has a working "secret" compartment
5. The dual panel sunroof

These are not in any particular order, other than #1.

Just wait until you find out your car will ship on a boat named the Poseidon.

Are you going off the deep end or simply transcending? I think deep down you know.

I suppose that would be a matter of perspective as well.

My Wife already thinks I have transcended all things sane. I think I have a lot more room before I reach the end of any rope I may be dangling from.

Now, I may have a conundrum on my hands soon. I got notice for jury duty. Second week in May. Which is going to be around the time 'Romi' should arrive. So, do I acquit as fast as possible? Or do I proclaim the death sentence as being too lenient during jury selection for a civil matter?

You tell the Court you have a new-born to attend to.

I honestly thought waiting would be different the second time around.:impatient

3. Power down low, appreciated even before break-in is done.

5. It's mine, ALL MINE!!!

Well .. I thought I was going to a thread where discussion centered around the great things about an R56 S. Was even going to put in some of my own comments on what I like about mine. Come to find out, it looks like I'm interrupting some kind of tell-it-to-the-world email exchange.
