mine was built 3/19/07. arrived in s carolina 4/16/07 and i am still waiting. now im starting to see people with the same build dates getting their cars on the west coast before me. im located in cleveland. i'm missing a fu^*(%g amazing break in weekend

don't fret hun... I'm in Louisiana and I haven't gotten mine yet either... I should get this week though... i know it's hard staring at all these 'estimated' dates but it's going to be sooooo worth it I'm sure...

 

Me either. My build was also completed 3/19; it arrived in NY/NJ 4/1, arrived at dealer 4/13, pickup scheduled for tomorrow, 4/23. Finally! Delays include installation of aero kit at VDC, and flooding out of dealer due to nor'easter.

A number of others from the week 12 thread don't have their cars yet either. Patience. Everyone says the wait is worth it.

 

funny thing is after all that (installing the aero kit and flooding) you are still getting yours quicker. i calld the MA and he said the truck was "delayed" whatever that means. its not so much that i cant wait, its that i really want to have a day or so to break in the car correctly. now if i get it during the work week, im not going to be able to drive it for 5 or so hours correctly (side streets, varying speed gear). instaed im going to have to pick it up, hop on the freeway home, then hop on the freeway all week to and from work 60 miles round trip. we all know thats no way to break in a car correcly. by next weekend i should have 500 incorreclty broken in (all freeway) miles on my S.

 

Me as well. I know where my car is and its not even close to me yet. Darn CN Rail strike, might have me waiting a very long time!!! It's only 3600kms away!! No point to grumble, nothing I can do.

 

flav - who is your MA, I used Mike at Classic in Mentor and had a 3/21 build date (but no major additions at the VDC), and it arrived at the dealer on 4/16. My problem is the dealer is 4,000 mile from me and I can't pick it up till the 26th. Waiting knowing its at the dealer is making me nuts.

whhhaaaaat!!!! i am also at classic. i had bill. dont get me wrong, im so glad your car came in, but now im starting to get suspicious. why would you have a later build date but your car came in so much quicker. also where did your car endter the country. mine was sent all the way down to s carolina (i have no clue why). it would make more sense for it to enter in NJ or MD. my car got to the port (s carolina) on 4/16. no i have no mods at all that need to be added at the port. i am starting to get concerned. also sounds weird that i was told "the truck was delayed". on miniusa it says my estimated delivery date was 4/21/07.

 

Tough break flav, but all sorts of things can delay a car. If you are worried about breaking in your car, wait until the weekend to take delivery. What's a few more days to ensure a proper break-in?

 

I feel like a jerk. i walked into the dealership. Two days later i had a car
turns out the salesperson ordered a car for herself but fell in love with a 335 instead.
i KNOW it will be worth the wait. years ago i had to wait 6 months for my subaru RS (the good looking coupe in 99) to arrive. THAT was murder!

ahhh, yes, my start build date was 3/19. now that makes sense, i feel much better. ill be looking for my car in the next few days. thanks

 

got the call today. picked up the car tonight. AMAZING!! drives so solid. quality is perfect. it feels so much more solid than my 2004 MCS. rides like a nimble fast tank. everybody i showed it to made comments on how much different it looks than my 2004 inside and out. worth the wait.

 

Congratulations, flav. I also picked up my week 12 car last night, so we ended up tied after all. I'm actualy eager to go to work today, or should I say "motor to work?"

 

flav - see you got yours (Congratulations) before I get mine. You didn't happen to see my Chili Red w/ Black MCS by chance? Man the next 48 hours are going to kill me. Once again Congratulations to flav & colea.

 

i did see a chili red/black. it was in the back where they have all the MINIs parked waiting to get picked up. when are you picking it up. if i go past there this weekend i can snap a photo of it for you. what were your exact specs so i know its yours?

 

flav - it better be gone by this weekend, I pick-up on Thur (26th), Mike (MA) is picking me up at the airport in the morning and I'm having a hard time with this wait.
