True Redline

What is the True Redline of a mini cooper tritec engine? I know that the redline is set to 6800 rpm's and that the fuel cut off is at 7050-7100 rpm's but what is the True redline where you start to do damage? I was wondering this because with a different cam the power say stubble point is set father back instead of the 6000-6100 rpm mark could you gain more power band from remaping the ecu for more revs ???

I stand corrected after talking to a pretty serious mini friend of mine you can run i to 9k with a turbo on it the stock supercharger would die.

I ran my car to 8250 on the track a few times (My redline). My valvetrain is rated up to 10k RPM's. Past 8200 RPM's the lifters can't keep up.

Stock valvetrain starts getting iffy past 7300-7400 RPM's.

I actually mis-shifted my car on the track recently (Grabbed 2nd trying to get 4th) at about 100 MPH. The gear didn't actually catch all the way because I got the clutch back in but I was easily spinning up to 9k+ (Based on what 8200 sounded like before).

yea when i misshifted i was actally errrrrrm running from the umm well yea and i was downshifting with the intentions to go into 2nd but i though i was going about 50-60... but was doing 71 and by the time i noticed the clutch was out... needless to say i was suprised but it didn't phase me and i got away... the lesson i learned was keep the racing on the track....

That's what they call a "money shift" and usually it ends up floating valves and doing some serious damage....You were lucky...
