Drilling holes in bumper for license plate

Other than the bracket that mounts on the towhook that someone posted about here a while ago does anyone know of any other options to prevent having the dealer drill holes in the bumper?

The two options I see are the no-holes bracket from http://gominigo.com or flaunting the law. I'm doing the latter. We have not had a front plate on the '05 Cabrio for about a year, since we had to change the front valence due to road debris damage. Of course, if a cop mentions it, that replacement was just this past weekend and we have the plate in the boot, officer.

We'll probably get the brackets at the next event though, now that we need 2.

I have to have front plates in Texas, but I am not going to let the dealer mount the front plate. My plan is to take it home (when I get it,...because it is now scheduled for production!!) and scour the front end for another alternative mounting method.

MossMini also has a no-hole bracket. I got my MINI from the dealer without poked holes in the bumper and I am looking for alternatives. I called MossMini today but they were not sure whether their bracket works with 2007 Mini. Has anyone placed any of these no-hole brackets on a 2007 model?

I like the MossMini one. http://www.mossmini.com/Shop/ViewPro...10&SortOrder=1

Wish I knew if it works with the 07 though.

The original brackets do not fit the R56. Gominigo has brackets for the R56 and R53/R50.

I took a close look at the front of my Mini and checked the Manual also. Contrary to previous models the towing rod for 2007 is behind a rectangular body color matched piece right on the bumber and not on the grill below it. Therefore, I think application of the no-hole brackets is not going to result in a pretty sight.

The Gominigo site has a pic of the mounting bracket going through the towhook tab in the bumper.

Still might be better than drilling holes.
