very easy to do.

I forgot the mention my '07 is an MC. There are two indented spots on the front where a regular tag goes. Do you punch out/drill those spots to make holes for mounting a tag and attach with a frame?
Front plates in California are mandatory. Since they send you 2 plates you are supposed to display both plates (and not one on your dash either).
That being said I do not run a front plate (even though i have holes in my bumper from the plate bracket at the dealer
). It depends on where you are and what you drive and what you look like that will get you pulled over. Some places in LA county will randomly have traffic go through foot cops to check for seat belt use (lame excuse) and get you for no front plate if they don't see one on the car. I got that going to Venice Beach and had to do the fix it ticket.
It totally depends on the person if they want to go without a front plate at all but if you have a euro plate that could draw more attention to it.

Bimmian.com sells small pre painted plugs to fill the license plate holes and such. Not too much for them pre-painted. Mine may be harder since Astro Black is "hard to match right". I believe they can do MINI colors as well if one were to ask.
