Hello from Virginia Beach.

As many of you know, an English group broke the Guinness World Record in March for the most MINI/Minis in convoy/parade. 269 MINI/Minis.

On JUNE 10th this year we intend to beat that. We are reaching out to all area clubs to come together and get over 300 MINI/Minis. The event will begin at 3pm on June 10th 2007. Rally point is the Virginia Beach Amptitheater. We need to register all VIN#s etc inorder to send to Guinness so 2pm is recommended inorder to roll at 3.

There is no registration fee, just show up. We raise money thru T-shirt sales and Raffles. The post event is being held at a local Irish Pub with entertainment provided and raffle prizes donated from MINI, MC2 and other sponsors. We have MINI/Minis coming from Phillymini and DCmetromini as well as the local clubs here.

This is a joint effort being organized with Se7en City MINI, HR Club MINI and River City MINIs from Richmond .

Hope to see some Tarheels there to bring this record to the states and raise money for the Families of Fallen Navy Seals.

Can't make the drive, due to distance/Ice Cream Run commitment, but I'd like to donate to the cause. Any info on how to participate via T-shirt purchases/raffle for those who can't make it?

 

Definately accept donations. I've not yet got the t-shirt design finalized but will post pictures as soon as they are done. We will have a paypal account up and running shortly at www.sevencitiesmini.com . I will keep info up to date as it comes available.

I would buy a t-shirt too when the design is finalized....one can never have too many MINI shirts!

 

I could use another Mini Shirt! We may have that many MINIs on parade at the Dragon this year? Can't make it car show the 10th, but will purchase T.

 

I've got this penciled in but, will have to wait until closer to the event date to finalize the plan.

 

Would love to support and purchase a t-shirt as well. Just let me know when and how. Wish I could be there to make the book of records - it would be my only chance at making it in the BIG book! Perhaps next year.

I don't know if anyone from the organizing group has looked at our forum and seen the interest in the shirts. If you want one you might want to go to the SevenCities forum and put in your request there.

 

You may have heard by now but this is no longer listed as an attempt. Barring unforeseen circumstances of a change by the Guinness people, we did gather enough MINIs to set a new world record of 273! It was fun to be a part of this gathering. I wish more of our club members had participated.
