Webb Motorsports R56 weight

Thanks to Victor at Mini Works in AMVIV, we have an accurate weight on the R56.

My car has no options that would add weight, so it is lighter than most, but I was surprised.

With 3/4 tank of fuel, it weighed in at 2561 lbs. That compares to the GP weighed on the same scale on the same day with 1/8 tank of fuel at 2535 lbs. Fuel is around 6 lbs per gallon. Figure a roughly 6 gallon difference bewteen the two cars, and the weight difference would be 36 lbs. That makes the R56 lighter than a GP!

Thought I would share more info as we got it.

Hope that helps!
Randy

Thats some pretty cool news. Now just think if you lighten the R56 up a little? Remove rear seats, lighter wheels, etc.

It'll be interesting to see the weight difference if they ever produce an R56 GP

Great news.

The lighter the better!

It shows the engineering/racing spirit is alive and well at MINI.

Thanks for posting your findings Randy! Your Mule2's weight is right in-line with what Per @ Grassroots measured with their R56. The R56 seems to be a factory lightweight indeed!
