How much are clutches?

yeah it happened today burnt the damn clutch, the reason I was showing my dad a real burnout becuase I'm getting new tires and wanted to make him jealous becuase he tries to do burnouts in the drive way with the R32 but it's 4-motion so it can't. was doing fine spinning the wheels and huge cloud of smoke then i put the emergency brake down pushed in the clutch to put it in neutral and noticed a burning metal smell then it was stuck in first

are they under warranty? I have full coverage until 75k miles and they say with my "plan" it's bumper to bumper any little thing wrong and it's replaced.

Ex. my xenon washer thing on the left light wouldn't work so they replaced the whole light with a new one but the thing is mines and 04 and they gave me the 06 light with the projector bulb and replaced the right one with the new style light to.

Such irony. I bet your dad was impressed. Well, I think installation fees would be higher than the cost of the clutch itself. Check the vendors list for options.

Okay thanks, but it's wierd becuase when I go into servicing even if my car doesn't need it, you know if your car isn't due for servicing you have to pay, but when i go in and something is replaced say a bushing it's free I just get the paper of what was replaced and the amount which just says warranty or paid.

This is what is called ABUSE! No it won't be covered under warranty, nor should it......dealer will charge about $3000 to replace the clutch. An independent shop will be half as much......Hope it was worth it

And that towing expense is not going to be cheap either. I towed my mini about 20 miles and it costs $100. I can't imagine 200 miles, maybe you should find a private shop closer to you...you move on, you live and you learn.

Seriously, where are you located? I am sure there has to be a euro oriented private shop that can handle it. It is pure monkey work. Try a local BMW or VW shop first. ou'll probably save yourself close to $2000 after counting in flatbed towing charges for 200 miles

FYI, look into Spec, Clutch master, or Exedy...though none will survive what you did to your car...nor will your tranny last long for that matter....

Well flatbed to dealer will cost about $500 or $600 each way. My dealer is just about 220mi away and the slip on that was $636, of course that was covered under warranty, but you likely will not be under warranty

Not trying to be an ***, but color me unsurprised. Maybe you should go for an auto after all, except you'd probably just do neutral drops anyway...
