Aftermarket wheels - anyone had a problem

I have an 06 MCSa - produced 8/06. Apparently, June 15th, 2006 they changed from lug nuts to lug bolts. I have now tried two sets of wheels and the latest from the manufacturer - was that I could shave 2mm off and the wheels would fit my car. Should I do a stud conversion or just shave the 2mm????

Has anyone else had this experience?

The didn't change from lug nuts to bolts - they just changed the size of the bolts fromm M12 to M14 (and don't let anyone tell you they did it for 'strength', which is a silly premise).

Not all aftermarket wheels will clear the new M14x.1.25 bolts. Some do - and some don't. You can either have the lug holes clearanced for the M14's (suggest a VERY compotent machine shop do this) or you can convert to our M14-M12 conversion studs.

Converting to the M14-M12 studs does open more possibilities, but you may not need to do that if you have your heart set on one set of rims and plan on running that set indefinitely! Just ensure that the machine shop maintains the OEM 60 degree taper seat!
