I am thinking about changing my License Plate. When I 1st got the Mini I was wishy-washy on my choice but what I chose was cool & available so I snapped it up. But... I have finally had an epiphany & at last a unique tag # that I came up with all on my own has popped into my head. The only reason I inform you if this is that if anyone wants my old tag # I can transfer it to you (I guess ) instead of putting it back out there in the general tag pool My current tag is INIW (upside down MINI-people get a real kick out of it once they get it). If anybody wants it let me know & will gladly do all I can to see that you get it. The tag I want is available so I should be going to the DMV to change everything over in the next week or 2

I'm curious now. When will the new tag be unvailed?

 

Well I started thinking about going to the Dragon in May. Last time I got a personalized tag it took them the full 60 days to get it to me. I really don't want to drive to NC & be on the Dragon with a paper temp tag so... I have postponed getting my new tag & being the procrastinator that I am who knows when I will go in to get it once I get back

 

Are you going for a "support charity" plate (Barber's motorsport facility is a charity?) or a plain jane version? I don't believe it costs more.* I'm not a tree-hugger, I got the Cahaba river society plate because the colors go great with Car84 (although I'll have you know that I have been waist-deep, admiring the lillies and careful not to breathe on them or touch them or cast a shadow upon the delicate flowers).

*If you do buy a sponsored plate, I believe personalization is a free, unadvertised, upgrade in Alabama.

 

I have the University of Alabama plate now & that is what I plan to stick with The charge is a flat extra $50 if it is charity plate w/non-specified letters, specialized letters on the standard AL plate, or specialized letters on specialized plate

 

Yes, not only is the personalization free, but about $35 of the extra $50 is a tax deductible donation to charity.

So not only do I have a great tag but I get to write it off too!
