Astro Black Interior!...and stuff

I finally got my Astro Black trim pieces painted and installed. I also put sound dampening material on the door panels etc...not sure if it really made much of a difference though. Here are some pics of the dash...they're not the best, but they give you an idea. I'm also putting a pic of the Whalen **** that should be here early next week. I just got this picture from Doug.(He's awesome!) I also bit the bullet and ordered the OEM armrest, and I should be getting my it this week too. I'm excited! Before I picked up my MINI, I thought the people that were doing stuff like this were out of their mind. Now look what's happened. What is it about this car?

Looks good but I think it would look even better with Chrome trim.

+1, and maybe consider painting the downtubes as well.

Thank you for all the compliments. I thought about painting all the silver parts white to match the exterior (except the down tubes...they would be AB). That would require me to do the steering wheel parts, and I would have to cover up the writing which I really don't want to do. I really like the AB/silver combo right now...so we'll see if I still feel the same way later. I took the car to my parent's to see what they thought. They shrugged...they liked it the way it was before the paint. I'm not a big fan of chrome. My dad drives a motorcycle and likes lots of chrome. He thought I should have chromed the MINI up when I ordered it. I'm just not big on bling. I know I'm in the minority when it comes to that sort of thing.

Agreed on possibly painting the downtubes... and if mine weren't a checkmate (space blue interior trim) I'd be all over this. Looks great. Agreed also on the chrome - mines chrome from the dealer and I'd have preferred anthracite or silver... TEHO though. I like what you've done

yep, looked at it again and painting the downtubes AB would bring a little of the exterior "structure" into the car, kind of like exposed framework or something. I think it'd look cool... still

Hey MiniSuperCooper,

I know its an older thread, but was wondering how you went about getting your dash painted...what it involved..and how much it cost you? (if you don't mind me asking...just so I have an idea of what may be competitive)

It looks great! Done anything more since your last post? thanks!
