Tire Pressure Sensors - New Wheels

I'm getting new wheels/tires for the MINI. I'll retain my S-Lites for Winter. So, I believe that I'll need new pressure sensors for the wheels. The ones for the dealer are more than $100/piece.

Does anyone know of an aftermarket supplier or does someone have a used set to sell?

Thanks,
JSD

Pressurwe sensors

Unless you have an 07 and there has been a change in the pressure sensing system ??? there are no pressure sensors on the wheels similar to Corvettes and other cars. MINI determined tire pressure by counting wheel revolutions between the left and right side of the car using the ABS system over time.

If the count was off by too much it figures there is a problem.

THis MINI sytem will be phased out soon due to a federal law requiring active sensing in the next year or two. I think!

My 07 still has the rotational sensor. I've replaced the wheels and no issues.
This will change later in the year as previously posted.

Thanks

I have an '06. You save me some $$. I'm surprised that the dealership didn't tell me that I didn't need the sensors when I called earlier today.

That's sad, but unfortunately not uncommon. If you want to know something about your MINI you're better off searching/asking here on NAM.

What was the ding-dong gonna sell you?

You'd take this car to this place for service?

Maybe you were talking to the receptionist?

I'd not take this as lightly as you ... getting really unhappy with where MINI service seems to be going......
