Which sealant to buy?

I am looking to try a sealant instead of a wax for a longer lasting protection. Right now I am looking at the Griots and Klasse sealants. Does anyone have any experience/reviews of either or both of these? What is the best sealant out there that you recommend?

Also does anyone know if griots or the klasse sealants leave white stuff on the moldings??

Check out Prima Epic. It leaves an amazing shine and is a breeze to apply and take off.

Prima Epic

This month is Detailers Paradise month in the NAM calender, 15% off...

Quick terminology tip:
Sealant = synthetic wax = polymer wax

Manufacturers like to use all these different terms just to confuse everyone! But, they are in fact all the same basic thing and most tend to be more durable than carnauba waxes.

Knowing this will broaden your list of possible options.

There is another thread right now which is discussing the durability between Zaino, Klasse SG and Prima Epic. There aren't any hard conclusions yet but some good discussion...

i have used griot's sealant and its insanely protective. ihave it on a 2005 silver camry that is in impeccable shape. it resists everything. bird crap that has been stuck on for over 2 days, I didnt know about it. It was like a half dollar size worth of ****. I used some QD spray on it and it removed without hurting the surface. the area was still 100% slick and glossy from a 3 month old Griot's sealant application. It has a one year semi garauntee for outdoor cars that use carwashes. So, indoor + hand wash with proper technique would keep it super long.

My 2 cents.

My Previous Mini was a Jet Black/Jet Black MCS, The WIKKED One, with which I have won many a trophy for "best paint" at car shows, and was also featured in MC2 Magazine.

I had been up against many custom paint jobs and MANY different car polishing freaks, using the gammot of paint polishing products, waxes, finishers, etc.

My MINI always looked "wet" - in the snow, after a snow, whatever the weather, etc.

The products I used the most often were simple to apply, easy on/easy off - AND they never left a residue on the MINIs plastic bits.

They were:

Eagle One Nano Wax (the easiest and quickest polish on and off - and I frequently drive Zaino users crazy with this product - it gets a better shine in about 1/8th of the time it takes to use Zaino polishes etc....)

And Wolfgangs Quick Detailer (AutoGeek.net) for touching up your MINI after a quick wash, dust off, etc.

Consumer Reports has tested many of these products, and Eagle One also comes out on top in their opinion.

Eagle One also makes a "Wax-As-U-Dry" product that is a MUST HAVE if you need a quick "spritz-n-wipe" after a quick car wash.

I understand the FLACK I might take for going against the "Sacred Polishes" alot of you have put on a pedestal, but there are ALOT of MINI owners out there that just don't have the kind of time Zaino, Klasse, etc. products take to apply.

For the almost NON-DESCERNABLE shine and protection than any of these "2-3-step" products can give you, go do yourselves a favor, try Nano Wax products, and spend some time with your family/dog/therapist - OR GO MOTORING, with the knowledge that if your beloved MINI gets real dirty, it will be a >snap< to get it tip top shiny once more.

Great-looking car! When the ghost flames were applied, what else was done to the paint (clearcoat on top, wet-sanding, etcetera)? That can have a lot to do with how paint looks as well.

The paint on my bike looks significantly better than the paint on any of my cars, mainly because it was fully wet-sanded and buffed out following a custom paint job.

I'm a big fan of Klasse AIO topped with P21S carnauba. Next weekend I am going to add a few coats of the Klasse Sealant Glaze before the carnauba (but it will be my first time using the SG so I have no review of it yet)

Thanks....

The car was wet sanded and clearcoated after the Ghost Flames were airbrushed on.

HOWEVER - I was driving "Zaino" users crazy even before the custom clearcoat was done.

My point also was, that my custom paint job was kept beautiful by using a "simple" store-bought product, that out-lasted and out-shined many of these 2-3 step processes.

Again, if you have time and like the results of Zaino/Klasse/Prima, all of which I have used and tested, go ahead.

In the past I have used:
Zaino
Prima
Klasse
Wolfgangs (which I felt was better than the three above)
NTS7
3M Products (Finesse it, etc.)
Hog Wild and Cycle Finish
McGuiars
Mothers (their Chrome Wheel Cleaner Drill Attachment rocks!)
and Eagle One NanoWax

IF you want to save yourself time (or don't have the time to use all of these products) Eagle One Nano-Wax is the way to go.

NO ONE will be able to tell that you used Nano-Wax as opposed to the others, not in shine and not in durability.
