Comical? at first maybe but then you have to realize that the poor mini that was launched will never know the joy of being motored around any more. It's really sad...
Heh, that's like the Top Gear episode where they attach rockets to a Rover Mini and send it rocketing down a ski jump in Norway! The Top Gear Mini survived the ordeal and lived to motor another day.
Apparently the engineers had chutes on this MINI but they opened much too late. I think I saw that the wreck has JCW wheels on it. I could see doing this with a car that had been totaled out already but at least take the parts off that are valuable -- someone might want them -- like people here.
I guess the first one was doing air donuts.
A mindless (or at best poorly engineered) gimick to feed American audiences with short attention spans and an apetite for bizarre showmanship at any cost. I vote not funny.
A redneck wouldnt have the money to by the MINI in the first place! Plus it looked like it was held together with more than bailing wire and duct tape!

I agree with you there. I want my 30 seconds of wasted time back...
On another note...if the "Air Bags" had deployed everything would have been fine...
