Comical? at first maybe but then you have to realize that the poor mini that was launched will never know the joy of being motored around any more. It's really sad...

 

Heh, that's like the Top Gear episode where they attach rockets to a Rover Mini and send it rocketing down a ski jump in Norway! The Top Gear Mini survived the ordeal and lived to motor another day.

 

Apparently the engineers had chutes on this MINI but they opened much too late. I think I saw that the wreck has JCW wheels on it. I could see doing this with a car that had been totaled out already but at least take the parts off that are valuable -- someone might want them -- like people here.
I guess the first one was doing air donuts.

 

I doubt they used a fully specced JCW or even an MCS for that matter. But then again, there are plenty of crazy people out there.

 

Poor Mini. Couldn't they have used a scion or yaris or something? I feel like Ben Kenobi felt after the Death Star destroyed Alderaan...

 

I don't see the jet motor on the configurator. Maybe it will be added as an ultra performance pkg later?
