R56 Week 12 Production Group (March 19)

After being "on order" for a seemingly interminable length of time, I went to "scheduled for production--no confirmed date" yesterday to "currently in production, completion scheduled for March 19" today. At this point, I feel the definite need for a week 12 support group!

When did you order your MINIs? I'm a week into my order and stuck at schedule for production - no confirmed date. Trying to be patient and hoping to get lucky.

Congratulations.

For me, I put down an initial deposit on January 22, but had to wait for the dealer's March quota to be assigned before actually placing the order, which I did on February 16. I was waiting for the factory nav, which wasn't available for the U.S. until March. Sounds like your wait will be much less...good for you!

I'm not so sure. I think I'm hoping too hard to get lucky. I'll probably end up in week 32 or something.

We'll have to stay in touch and compare notes on the information we get. MY is a great color - we test drove one and my 3 year old was begging to get.

I talked with ASK MINI today and mine is scheduled for completion on March 20. I ordered Saturday, 3/3. It went into formal production at 6am yesterday. I've had worries about the information in OL and verified the production number multiple times w/ dealer. OL/ASK MINI using the production number I've been given is still not listing my vehicle, but ASK MINI cleared that up by telling me the VIN in OL is wrong. Like many others, I am finding that talking to a real person is more reassuring. I've never succeeded in obtaining a "code", but that could change--at any moment, I guess?

SO? I'll hang out with you folks in Week 12. (Has anyone wondered whether you belong in the week the car starts production or when it completes production?---I hate to look foolish.)

Where are you expecting your "ship to come in"? I'm east coast (South Florida) so from what I've learned from this forum's stickies it must be Charleston.

We ordered on Wed Mar 7 as well. Maybe I'll still get lucky and be moved up to an early slot as well. We bought from Mini of Sterling near Washington, DC. Congrats!

I'd argue that it's the completion week that counts. Even though my car starts production this week, those guys in the week 11 thread are already talking about transport to Southampton, and which ships they're on. Too depressing!

I expect my port will be New Jersey. We'll all have to bone up on this ship-tracking business soon. That's good.

I ordered from Universal Mini on 3/6 and according to ASK-Mini, it will be ready on 3/19 and delivery around 4/21. I guess it will come to the port nect to Oxnard, CA. It would be great if we could help each other in tracking the shipments and keep in touch overall.

2007 MC, Chili Red, White top with stripes, Premium, Sport, Septronic, Red Rooster color line, Piano Black rim, center arm rest and bluetooth prep, Xenon headlights.

Fellow week 12ers:

The following is a great site for tracking your mini. You will definitely need it once the car production is completed.

Add me to this group, I was given a compleation date of 3/21. Ordered from Classic MINI in Mentor Ohio on 3/3.

MCS, CR/B, Cold, DSC, LSD, SS, Xenon, Rear Fog, Sunroof, & Headliner.

First thigh I get to do is drive it home to Anchorage Alaska (4,000 miles).

Wow! By the time you get it home from the dealer, you'll already be way past the break-in period. I get the sense that there might be a story here! Congratulations.

No dealer (there is a BMW dealer). The closest US dealer is just outside of Seattle (2,300 miles, a long wait to order, & MSRP + $$$) and there is a Canadian dealer in Edmonton (1,950 miles - Canadian car regs.). I went with Classic becaue of good reviews on this board and my litle brother lives 40 miles south of them.

Maybe - The BMW does sell Used MINIs, but if it's major, my understanding is that MINI will ship to Seattle (the nearest Service Center) and I have to pick it up there. As for the 'Free' service, I have to get to the service center, so I'm going to have to pay either the BMW dealer or an independent mechanic. I just have to hope my MINI is one of the majority that has no 'major' problems.

Well, my MINI has made it to the paint shop today, so I guess it's really, really too late to have second thoughts on the SS/B color. Still scheduled for completion on Monday, so I hope to be in a good position for transport compared to the rest of you week 12 folks.

Mine made it to the paintshop today too with completion on Monday. I guess our MINI's are going to hang out together on the ship.
