There has been lots of talk about how they "settle" during the break in period. Just thought it would be interesting---my husband said the same thing--TAPE MEASURE? I'll probably forget to measure.
Just a little over 2 hours until we see her!

She's home---pics tomorrow.

Way different than the R50 in terms of ride/handling, etc.
A little too much to drink right now to report intelligently!

She's smoking? Seriously--smoke coming out of the rear. Anyone had that issue? Oh and pulling out of the dealer I hit 5K rpms--sorry!

Tadpoles in the boot?

We've had an immense amount of rain over the weekend here in the NE, and my local MINI dealership was flooded out over the weekend. Rather scarily, my MA writes that they "got all the cars out." That includes mine.

The wait will be worth it guys! I'm up to 83 miles. She spent all day Sunday in our garage (finally had some rain here) getting the Zaino treatment. Now we are into a work week and there is no time for anything but driving back and forth to work/meetings. I love her though. The SS changes with the light--it is true--she's almost green sometimes. The manual is fun, but I'm having a great deal of trouble staying under 4500rpm when accelerating from 1st. I wish I could make the "mood lighting" brighter. I ordered the white repeater lights and the sunshade (thank you OutMotoring). The couple of folks I've shown her to mostly are speechless about her features---the push button start blows their minds and it goes uphill from there.
Hang tight!
You are also going to be amazed how tired you are when they finally get here. This is a VERY stressful process.

Well, I found out yesterday that CN Rail (train) is on strike!! My Mini has been sitting in Halifax for about 2 weeks now. Nobody knows when I will get my Mini. So I sit here waiting, saving more money for a bigger downpayment. It's almost a PRO and CON!! Dang either way!!

I was on the Integrity and got off in New Jersey on April 10. Picked the car up on April 17. Hope yours arrives soon. You're going to love it.

I am finally a happy mini owner!! Everything went great at the dealer yesterday, and I spent my first night enjoying it in town. I had a gig at a club in town. As I hoped, my guitar rig fit perfectly. Almost like the boot was cut perfectly to fit a Vox AC30 amp nice and snugly! It was great getting to know "Ranger".
Few quick notes: Storage area is open. No roof noise. Very intense burning plastic smell (assuming it is normal) after driving. No smoke or anything.. idrive is very clumsy, hard to just dive in to. I assume, like anything it just takes practice.
Very happy overall, and cant wait to get out of the break in period..
Will post pics and such later.. Now out to motor!

I'm now scheduled to pickup my MINI on Monday, 4/23. it was originally scheduled for this past Wednesday, 4/18, but the dealership was completely flooded out due to our massive rains last weekend ("they got the cars out"), to the extent that they have completely abandoned their old location and moved in with the main BMW site a mile or two away. The computers and many of the paper files at the old location were under water; my own manila folder now contains wrinkled and blotchy paperwork, but I've been assured that the MINI itself is neither wrinkled nor blotchy.

Congratulations to all you other week 12'ers who've already picked up your cars; the rest of us are pretty jealous, I'd say.

Motored over 110 miles yesterday in an types of situations. I'm now almost at 400 miles. Feeling more comfortable with the shifting. I'm driving my husband crazy since I'm so much more careful (timid?). "Drive her like you mean it", he keeps saying. I let him drive for about 5 minutes. (Then I was crazy!) Even filled up with fuel, but I'm holding back on doing fuel consumption statistics until the second fill up.
She gets another bath today and THEN we will take some pictures to post. Brake dust-I hate it.

Longest Day

Finally drove off around 7:30 PM this evening with my baby. Still some dealer stuff to do, but I decided to take delivery this evening and bring it back later for the final touches.

It's too dark and I'm too tired for pictures tonight. Tomorrow...

The drive home was great. First day of summer, sunroof open, windows open.

YEA!
