5th Annual MINIs on the Dragon (May 3-6, 2007)The 5th Anniversary of the largest MINI event in the nation. Ready to take your turn trying to tame the Dragon?
Kids should have a great time there. The one thing I'd caution is to turn OFF your FRS radios after dinner. There are a handful of idiots every year that get very obscene on the radios, only late in the evening.
I'd have no reservation about bringing kids as long as I did that.
I called them a few weeks back asking about a front-wheel only dolly, and got the quote. I planned to check with them later on, but I have to call them anyway to schedule my hitch installation, so I'll let you knwo what they say.
Yes, inquiring minds want to know. Dolly or trailer? I thought they wouldn't rent a car trailer without a truck too.
That's what I thought...plus Msfitoy's too low to be dragged on her rear wheels...need full trailer and I think the rental fee for a week is pretty much the price of owning one...
First time at the Dragon and Sceduled to attend are my daughters 12 and 14. I registered both of them, but that in no way means either one of them will be onboard when the MINI pulls out of the driveway on Thursday morning.
We are bringing our 10 year old daughter. I'm hoping to have some kind of games set up in our tent (Aesthetic Creations) because even though she loves to "help" and I take her on "field trips" throughout the day at events she gets bored when we aren't driving the twisties. Mike went alone last year, and he's not stopping us from coming this time!
Well, turns out that we got the wrong quote, but that even at the correct price renting a full-size car platform (usable with lowered cars) isn't too expensive. You can definitely rent just the trailer from UHaul without also renting a truck - see THIS THREAD for details.
I'd love too but kids are still in school till June 6th. Son (10) and I did MTTS and he loved it. A shame he's going to miss this.
Sorry he can't make it.
The irony is, I was planning to come solo, but then found out that my kids have a teacher workday that Friday and an early release day on Thursday... So if I went solo I'd be missing a long weekend opportunity with the family - so MOTD IS our long weekend.
Will probably never work out that way again - but great this time.
Hey, if you need a babysitter, our 15 year old can help here and there. She's giving us some "adult" time by watching her 5 year old brother when we need her to. We're staying in the hotel at the Fontana.
